Pam Smith
Art & Library Instructor
smithp@archmil.org

Mrs. Smith adds excitement and creativity to our school arts program, bringing it to life for our students. Our walls are covered with exceptional pieces of art, all done by our 215 artistic students. Pam serves on our student activities committee.

Pam’s Teaching Philosophy
"
My goal is to meet the needs of diverse learners through various methods of instruction. I am dedicated to assisting children in achieving to their fullest artistic potential.  I believe in the importance of instilling a sense of confidence and strength in every student and I have a personal vested interest in seeing all of my students succeed."

Why does Pam love Saint Joseph Parish School?
"I am so happy to be part of such a positive school experience.  It is refreshing to be able to include God and religion in my lessons.  The students, their families and the staff are all such wonderful people.  The entire environment is far better than I had hoped I would ever teach in."

Rhonda Sutherland
Physical Education Instructor, Middle School Health
  rjsutherland@charter.net

Rhonda graces our school with exceptional talent and a true ability to motivate students to not only become physically fit but to understand the importance that fitness plays in our daily lives. She is a great asset to our excellent staff, as well as to our student activities committee.

Rhonda’s Philosophy
"My goal is to motivate students to give 110% in whatever they do. I try to expose the students to many activities so they have an ongoing desire to be physically active. Instilling good sportsmanship and fair play is also a priority."

What Rhonda likes best about St. Joseph Parish School
"The teachers work collectively for the best interest of the students. The students are wonderful. It is a true joy to teach here!"

Bob’s Philosophy
"Simply put, it is my goal to educate, motivate and to inspire our students. More specifically, I believe that Spanish is more than just the study of a language, but also the understanding of the rich cultures behind the language."

What Bob likes best about St. Joseph Parish School
"I love that everyone here is family, regardless of age, grade or background, and that we are able to use the values of Family and Faith in order to help our students grow personally, spiritually, and socially, as well as academically."

Fred Suchy
Technology Instructor

Fred has been an excellent part of our staff for several years. He works closely with the teachers so that integration of technology can occur. He makes learning both exciting and fun, and serves as a great resource for our classroom teachers.

Fred’s Philosophy on Education
"Technology is a fantastic teaching, learning, and research tool.  I believe that technology can be integrated into all subject areas, and I work with the teachers, as well as the parents, to provide the students with the knowledge they will need in the future. "

What Fred loves best about St. Joseph Parish School.
"The thing I love best about this school is the students.  They are the most polite, well-mannered and “fun” group of kids that I have ever worked with in 20 years of teaching.  The teachers are also great.  They are so friendly and are happy and willing to collaborate with me in the use of the school’s super technology resources."

Jeni Luy
Music Instructor
luyj@archmil.org

SJPS could not ask for a more talented music teacher than Jeni Luy. In addition to the instruction of the music curriculum, Jeni also leads the school choir, a Christmas program, variety show, a middle school musical elective and a middle school musical. We have truly enjoyed the 10 years she has given to our school thus far. She is a true blessing.

 Jeni’s Teaching Philosophy
"My first goal is to have children love music.  To accomplish this we experience all types of music including: Classical, jazz, blues, swing, pop, and rock.  I also help the students to understand how music impacts their other classes.  I hope that when the students leave St. Joseph School they have a strong understanding of how music works.  That they can join a choir at a higher level and that they can enjoy all types of music."

What Jeni likes best about St. Joseph Parish School.
"The staff here is the best to work with.  Everyone is very dedicated to their job and the students.  The students are absolutely great.  Each one is special and unique.  I truly enjoy coming to work!"
